2022
Optimas calculated its full Scope 1, 2 & 3 greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) inventory for January – December 2022 as a baseline for future emission reduction targets.
2025
Optimas is targeting a 10% overall reduction by 2025. We will communicate our near-term and net-zero targets, as they relate to goods and services, with suppliers.
2030
Optimas has set a reduction target of 55% in Scope 1 & 2 emissions to reach net-zero by 2037. By reducing emissions and business innovations, Optimas aims to reach a reduction target of 51.6% in Scope 3 emissions, per £m of revenue, by 2030 from the 2022 baseline.
2032
Optimas is targeting a reduction in Scope 1,2 & 3 emissions to 50%, from the 2022 baseline, by 2032. This is in line with the Science-Based Targets Initiative’s (SBTi) net-zero standard.
Sustainability Timeline
2035
Optimas is aligned with US and UK regulations to reach the target of net-zero emissions from heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) under 26 tons that are involved in receiving inventory from suppliers and shipping products to customers.
2037
Optimas has set a net-zero goal for Scope 1 & 2 (market basis) by 2037. This will require a 90% emissions reduction from the baseline year of 2022. Both targets are more ambitious than the reductions required to limit global warming to 1.5 C stipulated in the Paris Climate Agreement.
2042
Optimas has set a long-term target of reducing Scope 1,2 & 3 emissions to 10% of the 2022 baseline by 2042 to achieve its net-zero goals.
2050
Optimas has a Scope 3 target of reaching net-zero by 2050. This aligned with US and UK regulations and many of our customers’ strategic plans. Reaching this net-zero target will require a 3.2% annual reduction in Scope 3 emissions regardless of business growth.
